2022 | Austin Jesters

The Jesters snuck into the playoffs during the last days of the season, edging out the Canes to win the Seaver and claim the last spot. They beat the Generals 4-1 and (120-win favorite) Aces 4-1 before taking out the Blue Wave in the World Series with another dominating 4-1 series win.

This is the Jesters second title in the "BMPL era" and first since 2016. They are the only team to win two titles in the last 9 years.

Owner: Matt Lawson

2021 | Bay State Militia

What a story. Three straight seasons of 100 losses for an owner in only his 5th season. From 55 wins last year to 104 this year. Surviving a gauntlet that included two 100-win teams - Sasquatches (104) in seven thrilling games and Generals (108) in the finals. Their ace throwing a 1H, 1BB, 11K performance in the clinching game.

Our 8th champion in 8 years demonstrates that with fortitude, any franchise can deliver a winner, though I'm not sure we've ever witnessed a turnaround quite like this.

Owner: Mike Lydon

2020 | Memphis Blues

Three years in a row of being one of the (if not THE) strongest team culminated in a well deserved championship. Matt's Blues had the best record and run differential in the league, dominating their division and league.

His hard work to get here paid off, trading a package of prospects (a rare move for the Blues) to sign a suite of stars that cemented his place in the history books.

Owner: Matt DeLamater

2019 | Harrisonburg Hounds

Steve’s Hounds were an underdog coming into the playoffs, but they made a statement out of the gate - dismantling the 108-win Aces 4-0. They then took down the 2016 champion Jesters in a tight 7-game series.

Having gotten through the tough Gehrig gauntlet, Hounds then had to play a well-rested Sasquatches team (2017 champs) that won 107 regular season games. Eddie’s squad took a commanding 3-0 games lead, including a 10-0 thrashing in game one. But Hounds fought back. Sabbathia held serve in game four, they broke degrom in game five and Verlander dominated at home in game six. Finally, Hendricks outmatched Tanaka, the Sasquatches 2017 hero, to cap an improbable and dramatic comeback.

2018 | Waco Canes

On October 19, 2015, Ronnie emailed:

‘p.s. I want the worst team possible’

Ronnie was given the worst team.

At the end of the 2016 season, his first after a multi-year layoff from the league, Ronnie’s Waco Canes sat at 70-92 with a -185 run differential.

Fast forward only two years….Ronnie wins 104 regular season games in our toughest division and takes the BMPL world series with a 4-1 win over Grabbers.

Owner: Ronnie Fauss

2017 | Sarasota Sasquatches

With gut wrenching Game 7 victories in the LCS and World Series, the Sarasota Sasquatches won the 2017 BMPL World Series! Eddie has been one of our most thoughtful and hardest working owners for the last several years to reach the top!

Ultimately, Eddie made a brave (ballsy) move, starting Tanaka in Game 7 on short rest. His strategy of hoping that DMB would move quickly to his powerful bullpen played out as he had hoped.

Eddie defeated long-time owner Farmboys Jeff in the World Series. This year's playoffs could not have been more wide open and it showed, with nearly every series going down to the wire.

Owner: Eddie Buchholz

2016 | Austin Jesters

Congrats to our new BMPL Champ! Mr. Matt Lawson has been in this league for a while and is one of our strongest and most engaged owners.

The Jesters knocked off the Northsiders 4-2 in a rematch of last year's World Series. Arrieta won both of his starts and the bullpen dominated en route to victory.

Let's also remember that Matt left himself with a pretty challenging division after helping out with preseason realignment efforts! He slid past the Blues in the last week to take the division and sneak into the playoffs. Blues will be in a good position to seek revenge next year.

Owner: Matt Lawson

2015 | Richmond Northsiders

The Northsiders outlasted the Jesters in 7 games to win their first Championship in their seven year history. Ace Chris Sale loses both games of the series but the rest of the rotation comes through in the clutch.

Jesters win an amazing 116 games behind Jake Arrieta and Matt Garza but come up 2 innings short.
